I stuffed as much as I could into my suitcase and decided a couple weeks ago to make something just for fun. I don't get to do that very often since I'm usually racing against deadlines. My first little granddaughter is due to arrive soon. Two weeks from today actually so I grabbed a skein of the pink, relaxed in my recliner while watching a good movie and created this dress for Willow.
I have been reading all the wonderful comments on my giveaway post. They have been heartwarming and so full of passion. Crochet and knitting is so much more than merely making loops with yarn. Many readers shared how they still feel close to mothers and grandmothers that that taught them to knit or crochet and have since passed. People are able to show their love and let someone know how much they care by gifting prayer shawls, cancer caps, afghans and petghans to shelters, baby gifts to welcome new little ones and the list goes on. I think "Celebration" is a great name for this yarn since we DO celebrate our stitching! It was a celebration for me to create this and it will be an even bigger celebration to see Willow wearing it and welcome her to our family.
If you haven't already entered my giveaway, make sure you do it! There is a skein of Red Heart Celebration in the prize package. Just comment on my November 19th blog post. Contest ends November 30 at midnight.
this hot pink would be perfect for one of my nieces Christmas gifts. The Hubby has 6 siblings. Instead of having to buy for all of them and their families, we all draw names. This year we got the biggest sibling family. 6 kids and 2 adults. 3 boys, 3 girls. all 3 girls like various shades of pink. That cannot have the same shade or they'll have a fit. lol. I'm sitting here trying to decide what to make each of them and have settled on beanie with birth month flower and tutu sets. I haven't even begun to figure out what to make the boys. my brother's daughter is getting a crochet waist tutu (would LOVE to do a nice bold purple for the band) and stretchy bracelets. haven't figured out for his 2 boys or him yet either, though he and one of the boys are nutty about lime green. noticing a trend here? lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm making my list of things to get at JoAnn's this weekend while they're having sales.... Hoping Hubby will let me buy it since it's for gifts. Not holding my breath though as I just spent $90 last night on Black Friday deals (mostly his Christmas gift and new pj's for the littles as they've grown out of the last ones we bought. I can't afford their growth rate!!). I'm about ready for the holidays to be over. I remember when the holidays used to be fun. My brain is under too much stress figuring out gifts cause the Hubby isn't contributing. He will wait til last minute and then I'll end up with Mt. Rushmore of zits across my chin.
i love to crochet and am a pattern junkie. would love to win this give away pic me picme
ReplyDeleteWhat. Those colors are amazing. I'm a novice crocheter and loving all yarn all I use is red heart. My honey supports me and I've made several blankets beanie and headbands. Those colors just blow me away. I had hot pink slippers and my cousin claimed them.
